An interesting and exciting change of plans for this weekend! This has been a weekend in flux for a long time, but it wasn’t until Thursday Night that I finally had a firm gameplan. My original thought was to head up to New England in confluence with a separate event going on there to attend a couple football games, but the timing never worked out. So, I was planning on going to Rutgers Stadium for the first time (I haven’t gone yet, waiting for their renovations to finish) as the Scarlet Knights took on North Carolina. However, some people from work have free tickets to the October 8 game against Connecticut, so we are going to all attend that one together.
After some researching, I saw the possibility of a doubleheader in Connecticut: A UConn football game in Rentschler Field at Noon and then a potential (if necessary) Game 4 of the Atlantic League Baseball Semifinals in Bridgeport at 7 PM. Two stadiums in one day. I decided that was the best option, so I bought a ticket to the UConn game and waited on the Bridgeport-Southern Maryland series to hope it gets to Game 4.
Half an hour after purchasing my UConn ticket, I got a call from a friend who was just given two tickets to the Giants-Titans game at the New Meadowlands Stadium on Sunday! Needless to say, I’m ecstatic about the opportunity. I’ll skip out on the Bridgeport game (if they play Game 4) and save that for another day. Usually, I aim for one new stadium a month, but September-October is shaping up to be a really busy month.
So, Saturday I will be visiting Rentschler Field (looking forward to hearing the correct pronunciation too) for the first time at 12:00 PM for the Connecticut-Buffalo football game. Then Sunday, it’s off to the New Meadowlands Stadium for the New York Giants-Tennessee game at 1:00 PM. Check out the Schedule for upcoming plans.
Sean,
I just noticed your change of plans. I was wondering if you were going to see your Bills play in Foxboro Sunday. Now I know the answer.
However in this case change is good. I’ll be at the Giant/Titan game Sunday too before I go to the Yankee/Red Sox game at 8:05PM. Let me know where your’re sitting so I can stop by.
As for UCONN, I saw a game there last year. It was a nice venue. Get there early so you can park.
I look forward to seeing you again on Sunday.
Safe travels!
Yours truly,
Gary Herman
